作品紹介
「ぼくはだれ」は神秘的で不思議な冒険のお話しです。主人公の気持ちを表現できるよう文章はもちろん画面の構図や美しい水彩の色使いに工夫を凝らしました。
このお話しを作るときにインスピレーションを与えてくれたのは禅の十牛図です。十牛図とは禅僧が真の悟りに至る道を十の詩と絵で表現したものです。その他には、自分が子供の時とても好きだった一寸法師のお話しやピノキオのお話しなどがあります。
お子さんには、冒険心にとんだ自由な想像力や大自然と一体となった安心感を、ストレスを抱えた大人の方には、ほっと一息つき本来の素晴らしい自分に戻るきっかけを、「ぼくはだれ」を通してお伝えすることができたらと思っております。
英語作品紹介
“Who Am I” is a story about a mysterious and magical adventure. In order to express the feelings of the main character, I put a lot of effort into the text, the composition of the picture, and the use of beautiful watercolors.
The inspiration for this story came from “The Ten Oxen Herding Pictures” of Zen Buddhism – a Zen monk’s way of expressing the path to true enlightenment through ten poems and pictures. I also loved the stories about “The Inch-High Samurai” and “Pinocchio” as a child.
Through “Who Am I”, I hope to provide children with a sense of adventure, freedom of imagination, and a sense of security that comes from being at one with nature. Stressed-out adults too, may find a chance to take a breather and return to their true, wonderful selves.
